Job Description

CERN is seeking a skilled Magnet Engineer to join our team in the Normal Conducting Magnet section. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing normal conducting accelerator magnets using electromagnetic simulation tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and design normal conducting accelerator magnets using electromagnetic simulation tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of physicists, engineers, and technicians to meet functional requirements and project deadlines.
  • Follow-up the manufacture, measurement, and quality assurance of normal conducting magnets providing technical support and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
Requirements:
  • Experience with design of electromagnetic devices.
  • Ability to travel within the member states or associate member states as required.
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • National of a CERN member or associate member state.
  • Professional background in Electromechanics (or a related field) and have either a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
  • No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
