Program Officer for Climate Monitoring

Job Overview
The World Meteorological Organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Officer to support the design, implementation, and management of monitoring and evaluation systems within the Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) unit.
This role will involve working closely with implementing partners, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that CREWS projects achieve their intended objectives and that project results are accurately measured, reported, and utilized for learning and decision-making.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement M&E plans in line with the CREWS MEAL framework;
- Track and analyze CREWS core indicators to measure progress and outcomes;
- Support the analysis and interpretation of M&E data to assess performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making;
- Prepare portfolio reports and updates summarizing progress, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned;
- Communicate M&E findings effectively to inform project implementation and improvement;
- C coordinate and manage project evaluations to assess project impact and effectiveness;
- S Support learning and capacity building activities related to M&E;
- Collaborate with M&E team members and experts of implementing partners to improve M&E systems and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in social sciences, international development, or a related field;
- A minimum of two years of working experience with strong analytical, communication, and data organization skills;
- Experience working with different M&E methodologies, tools, and software, and familiarity with early warning in the context of LDCs and SIDS;
- Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written).
Benefits
- An annual net base salary of US$ 50,377 on initial appointment;
- An annual post adjustment of US$ 40,805 on initial salary;
- The possibility of renewal subject to availability of funds and pending satisfactory performance after an initial probationary period of one year which can be extended up to a maximum of two years.
