Procurement Specialist

At CERN, we are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Professional to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in identifying and implementing procurement strategies that meet the needs of our research and technical departments.
Responsibilities:- Advise and support CERN's research and technical departments in identifying procurement strategies within budgets and deadlines;
- Conduct market consultations to prepare procurement and inform economic operators of procurement plans and requirements;
- Prepare price enquiries and analyze bids received;
- Negotiate, place, and follow up orders, contracts, collaboration agreements, and contract amendments with suppliers and institutes to ensure the lowest possible overall cost within the applicable legal framework;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Manage or contribute to purchasing-related projects.
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State;
- You have a professional background in Finance, procurement, or a related field, with either a Master's degree and 2-6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- A monthly stipend ranging between 6212 and 6828 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax);
- Coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse, and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund;
- Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child, and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract;
- 30 days of paid leave per year;
- On-the-job and formal training at CERN as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French.
