About the Role:
We are seeking a Director, Interior Design (Europe) to oversee all aspects of interior design on new build and renovation projects in the region. This role will be responsible for reviewing design concepts, providing detailed comments, and ensuring design meets brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee interior design on new builds and renovations, ensuring design meets brand standards and creates a superior quality product.
- Review design concepts, provide detailed comments, and ensure design meets brand standards.
- Assist in sourcing potential interior designers, presenting portfolios, and determining studio viability.
- Contribute to keeping design standards current, updating documentation, and participating in annual reviews.
- Assist in recommending interior designers and art consultants, assessing project needs, and building a team of designers.
- Write design narratives, assemble background information, and conduct research to guide the team to appropriate products.
- Conduct new designer orientations, convey brand standards, and expected deliverables.
- Arrange and attend design presentations and workshops, scheduling attendance and agendas.
Requirements:
- 4-year university degree in interior design or architecture.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in an international design firm with a focus on hospitality design, plus minimum 3 years' experience on hotel operator design services.
- Strong knowledge of architectural and interior design processes, documentation, and graphic design.
- Excellent space planning, FF&E spec writing, and millwork drawings review skills.
- Understanding of lighting design and excellent knowledge of ACAD, SketchUp, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Hospitality design specialist with a proven track record and extensive experience in hotel, restaurant, and bar design.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written English.
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Creative problem-solving, understanding of fiscal landscapes, and disciplined communication.
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, good work ethic, and time management skills.
- Excellent diplomacy and conflict management skills, resilience, and positive attitude.
- Ability to assess physical products, reposition properties, and work with internal and external teams.
- Great communication skills to inspire design vision and convey concepts clearly.
- Good documentation skills and disciplined adherence to schedules.
Travel:
- Approximately 60-70 travel days per year.
This role will be a hybrid working model, requiring 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located in Geneva.
