About the Role:
We are seeking a Director of Interior Design to oversee all aspects of interior design on new build and renovation projects in Europe. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in hospitality design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee interior design on new builds and renovations, ensuring designs meet brand standards and create a superior quality product.
- Review design concepts, provide detailed comments, and ensure designs align with Four Seasons Design Narrative.
- Assist in sourcing potential interior designers, presenting their portfolios, and assessing their viability and quality of documentation.
- Contribute to keeping Design Standards current, participating in annual or bi-annual reviews, and ensuring accuracy prior to issuance.
- Assist in recommending interior designers and art consultants, assessing project needs, and building a team of designers to recommend to owners.
- Write Design Narratives, assembling background information, conducting research, and guiding the team to appropriate products.
- Conduct new designer orientations, conveying FS Brand Standards, expected deliverables, and our modus operandi.
- Arrange and attend design presentations and workshops, scheduling and arranging attendance and agendas.
Requirements:
- 4-year university level degree in interior design or architecture.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in an international design firm with a focus on hospitality design, plus minimum 3 years' experience on Hotel Operator Design Services.
- Strong knowledge of architectural and interior design processes, documentation, and graphic design as applied to Design Narratives, signage, and collateral.
- Excellent space planning, FF&E spec writing, and millwork drawings review skills.
- Understanding of Lighting Design and excellent knowledge of ACAD, SketchUp, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Travel:
- Approximately 60-70 travel days per year.
This role will be a Hybrid working model, requiring 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located in Geneva.
