Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Robotics Software Engineer to join our team as a key player in the design, development, and integration of our robotic platform. The successful candidate will collaborate with our software and AI engineers, embedded systems team, DevOps team, and field engineering team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our robotic platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the integration of the software stack for the robot, including simulation and real-world hardware, and collaborate with experts in AI-driven autonomy, SLAM, computer vision, and manipulation.
- Collaborate with the embedded systems team to ensure proper interfacing between platform software and hardware drivers.
- Implement deployment-ready code for the real robot, optimized for the robot's computational constraints.
- Work closely with the DevOps team to integrate platform development into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient build, test, and deployment processes.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate platform performance, reliability, and safety.
- Provide technical guidance to the field engineering team for platform deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Build, lead, and mentor an exceptional team of software engineers.
- Provide expert guidance to product managers and executives for strategic decision-making.
- Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and best practices to streamline knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as robotics, engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline.
- A minimum of five years of industry or research experience, with PhD experience applicable.
- Strong background in robotics or autonomous driving, with expertise across the full stack—encompassing sensors, perception, mapping, localization, navigation, control, and deep learning algorithms.
- Experience with deploying software on hardware platforms.
- Ability to write production-level code in modern C++.
- Ability to prototype algorithms in Python.
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Strong knowledge in Linux and how to set up and configure systems leveraging multiple PCs.
- PhD or Master's degree in robotics, engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline, or an equivalent amount of industry experience.
- Experience with autonomous robots, cars, or other vehicles.
- Experience in managing a software team.
