Job Title: WHO Consultant for IPC Program Development

We are seeking a highly skilled consultant to support the development of IPC programs at the national and facility levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IPC programs, including sepsis and AMR prevention, at national and facility levels.
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop training resources and plans to support IPC education and training.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the development of national and facility-level IPC programs.
  • Support healthcare-associated infection (HAI) surveillance and outbreak prevention and management.
  • Develop and implement standard and transmission-based precautions.
  • Support the prevention of specific HAIs, including catheter-associated urinary tract infection, catheter-associated bloodstream infection, health care-associated pneumonia, and surgical site infections.
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of IPC programs and practices.
Requirements:
  • First university degree in medicine, medical sciences, or nursing with specialization in IPC, hygiene, public health, or infectious diseases from a recognized institution.
  • Advanced level university degree (master's level or above) in medicine, medical sciences, or nursing with specialization in IPC, hygiene, public health, or infectious diseases from a recognized institution.
  • Five to ten years of progressive responsibility and clinical experience of implementing IPC, including sepsis and AMR prevention, ideally at facility, national, and international levels.
  • Over ten years of progressive responsibility and clinical experience of implementing IPC, including sepsis and AMR prevention, ideally at facility, national, and international levels.
  • Expert knowledge of English.
  • Intermediate knowledge of any other UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish).
Remuneration:

Band level B: USD 7,000 - 9,980 per month or USD 350 – 499 per day.

Band level C: USD 10,500 - 15,000 per month or USD 350 – 499 per day.

Location:

Off site: Home-based.

Travel:

The consultant is expected to travel.
