Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Underwriter to join our dynamic team. As a Marine Underwriter, you will be responsible for reviewing customer submissions, calculating risk premiums, and developing tailored insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management:
    • Review customer submissions and calculate risk premiums
    • Develop and edit insurance solutions tailored to customers' needs
    • Conduct risk visits with brokers and the Risk Consulting team to identify, analyze, and evaluate site-specific risks
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build long-term relationships with customers, brokers, and other AXA entities
    • Collaborate across departments, including Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and other internal teams
    • Participate and support internal strategic projects
  • Communication & Negotiation:
    • Customize communication and project updates to meet the needs of clients and business partners
    • Partner with the business to determine objectives of negotiation, including additional services, optimal value, and favorable contract terms
    • Consult with subject matter advisors to ensure the best interests of AXA XL are represented in negotiations
  • Process Continuous Improvement:
    • Develop, recommend, and champion continuous improvement efforts
    • Stay ahead of industry developments and best practices, making recommendations where applicable

Requirements

  • Professional experience in the insurance, logistics, or trading industry, ideally 5 years or more
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to work independently and structure the path forward
  • Well-spoken and communicative, with a confident and discrete manner towards clients and business partners
  • Motivated and solution-oriented personality that thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-energy environment
  • Proficient in standard MS Office tools
  • Linguistic proficiency in German and English and/or French
