The Role:

As a Developer Advocate, you will play a key role in creating compelling technical content delivered as blogs, podcasts, webinars, videos, quickstarts, tutorials, and articles. You will also develop unique demos in conjunction with vendors and partners in the ecosystem.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage and build mindshare with developers across our community through thought leadership and tactical content around Software Engineering best practices, Software Development Lifecycle best practices, Software Quality, and testing.
  2. Strengthen collaboration with communities, forums, and projects by establishing integrations or other modes of deep alignment.
  3. Create compelling technical content delivered as blogs, podcasts, webinars, videos, quickstarts, tutorials, and articles.
  4. Develop unique demos in conjunction with vendors and partners in the ecosystem.
  5. Host meetups, orchestrate workshops, and speak at conferences and events.
  6. Promote and drive attendance for company-hosted developer events and webinars.
  7. Establish relationships and reach with technology communities and organizations.
  8. Work closely with our teams who deal with programming languages, development workflows, and best practices to have an impact on our short and long-term objectives.
  9. Work closely with our Product Manager group to provide feedback on our products from the community.
  10. Partner with sales engineers and product marketers to advocate for code quality and security in diverse forums.
  11. Collaborate with community managers and other advocates to enhance ecosystem engagement.
  12. Leverage social media presence to amplify our brand within the developer community.

Requirements:

  • A solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps functions, and CI/CD.
  • Passion for designing, writing, and delivering high-quality software.
  • A solid understanding of the impact and management of Technical Debt within an SDLC.
  • Prior experience presenting Software Engineering-related subjects to technical audiences.
  • Strong proven experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing in blogs, articles, or tutorials.
  • A track record of success getting speaking abstracts accepted into technical conferences.
  • A growing following on social media platforms including Twitter, GitHub, Medium, YouTube, LinkedIn.
  • Exceptional communication skills with technical audiences using the English language.

  • 10+ years as a technologist in one or more of the following roles: developer advocate, evangelist, solution architect, software engineer.
  • Computer science degree or equivalent experience.
