Experimental Physicist Role

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is seeking a highly skilled Experimental Physicist to join its team. As an Experimental Physicist, you will play a leading role in all aspects of particle physics experiments, including conception and design, building and operation of detectors, and data analysis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating or making significant contributions to studies, projects, or committee work. You will also represent CERN at conferences, workshops, or in other research laboratories and institutions.
To qualify for this position, you must have a PhD or equivalent relevant experience in particle physics or a related field. You should also have an established record of postdoctoral experience and completed high-impact work in experimental particle physics research.
Your skills and qualifications include:
- Analysis and interpretation of experimental data
- Knowledge and application of physics reconstruction techniques
- Simulation, design, and development of physics experiments
- Operation of experiments
In addition, you should possess strong technical competencies and behavioral competencies, such as achieving results, communicating effectively, building relationships, working in teams, setting direction, leading with strength and credibility, creating vision and strategic partnerships.
You are expected to demonstrate your ability to draw up technical specifications and/or scientific reports and to make oral presentations in English. Fluency in French or the willingness to acquire it is also desirable.
