CERN is a leading international research organization, conducting pioneering work in experimental particle physics. The Experimental Physics Department (EP) at CERN has an exciting opportunity for a skilled researcher to join their team.
The EP department carries out cutting-edge research in the field of experimental particle physics, with a focus on providing a stimulating scientific atmosphere and contributing to the education and training of young scientists. As a key member of the team, you will play a leading role in all aspects of particle physics experiments, including conception and design, detector operation, and data analysis.
You will be responsible for coordinating or making significant contributions to studies, projects, or committee work, as well as representing the organization at conferences, workshops, or in other research laboratories and institutions.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physicist with a strong background in experimental particle physics research. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing innovative experiments to advance our understanding of particle physics
- Collaborating with colleagues to analyze complex data and draw meaningful conclusions
- Representing the organization at international conferences and workshops
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A PhD or equivalent relevant experience in the field of particle physics or a related field
- An established record of post-doctoral experience and high-impact work in experimental particle physics research
- Experience in data analysis, detector hardware, and online/offline software
