Laboratory Operations Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research and Development Laboratory Coordinator to join our team at CEMEX. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for coordinating laboratory activities, managing equipment, and ensuring the safe execution of R&D projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate laboratory activities and resources to support R&D projects and technical support.
- Establish and adapt working plans for laboratory team members and equipment based on project priorities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key research centers, universities, and institutes to identify new research opportunities and technological developments.
- Conduct training sessions for new employees, laboratory technicians, and interns to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and CEMEX procedures.
- Implement and develop state-of-the-art laboratory techniques and methods required for laboratory studies and evaluations.
- Plan and execute benchmarks of available products on the market to monitor competition and new technologies.
- Supervise and participate in internal and external committees to ensure the evolution of norms and standards in the building materials industry.
- Ensure the availability and optimal operation of laboratory equipment.
Position Challenges
Working in a multidisciplinary environment, adapting to changing tasks and projects, and communicating with other areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering, preferably in chemistry or building/construction.
- Master's Degree in chemistry preferred.
- 100% English proficiency, Spanish a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in a similar position, with 5+ years of experience in project leadership and technical support.
Internal/External Relations
- Regional Laboratories coordinators in CEMEX operations, Manager of other Product Development areas.
- External laboratories, universities, certification entities, commercial partners, and associations.
