Join the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as a Young Expert and embark on a two-year journey to develop your skills and expertise in intellectual property law.

About the Program

The WIPO Young Experts Program is designed to foster the next generation of intellectual property leaders. As a Young Expert, you will work alongside experienced professionals in WIPO's normative work, cooperation and technical assistance, and global database services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake research and analysis in preparation of legislative advice on trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications.
  • Support the development of a trademark examination training program for IP offices.
  • Assist in the preparation of SCT sessions and produce reports for committee documents.
  • Contribute to the work following the Diplomatic Conference on the Adoption of a DLT.
  • Undertake research and produce preliminary drafts for studies on quasi-judicial bodies adjudicating IP disputes.
  • Support the organization of WIPO judicial education programs.
  • Review laws and judgments data in WIPO Lex database for enhanced quality control and functionalities.
Requirements
  • First-level or advanced university degree in law.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in intellectual property law.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent research and legal drafting skills.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
