We are seeking an experienced Senior Biotherapeutics Researcher to join our innovative team at Athebio AG in Schlieren, Zurich.

Athebio is a pioneering biotech startup dedicated to revolutionizing the field of biotherapeutics. We specialize in developing advanced biotherapeutics with pharma partners based on Designed Ankyrin Repeat Proteins (DARPins). Our mission is to support innovative drug developers in creating next-generation biologics by providing tailor-made repeat proteins and expert services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional in protein science and molecular biology techniques to contribute to our groundbreaking work. As a Senior Biotherapeutics Researcher, you will be responsible for the expression, purification, and characterization of our remarkable Athebody DARPins. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Production: Efficiently produce high-quality Athebody DARPins in bacteria, ensuring minimal waste and maximum yield.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret results from various experiments, including HPLC and SDS-PAGE, to ensure the highest standards of scientific excellence.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to plan and execute work packages, ensuring seamless integration and efficient decision-making.
  • Knowledge Expansion: Continuously expand your expertise in protein science, molecular biology, and biophysical characterization.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Strong Background: A minimum of 2 years of experience in protein science, preferably in industry, with a solid foundation in molecular biology and biophysics.
  • Expertise: Proficiency in bacterial expression, affinity purification, and biophysical characterization of therapeutic proteins using routine techniques such as HPLC and SDS-PAGE.
  • Critical Thinking: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
