We are recruiting a

**Medical TA Lead - Primary Care (Cardiovascular-Respiratory disease)**:
In this function you demonstrate scientific value by strategic partnering with in
- and external stakeholders, by understanding and anticipating their needs and by translating them proactively into actions.

You stimulate the team’s contribution to the clinical development and medical evidence generation & and build confidence for our products to inform clinical practice with a clear patient centric approach.

Furthermore, you lead the Medical Educators Team (Primary Care MSLs) and make sure that the team effectively develops, implements, and executes the local medical educators plan in line with the Swiss brand strategies and global/regional Medical strategies. These outputs are guaranteed through continuously building robust scientific and medical expertise on the therapeutic areas, AstraZeneca products and its competitors in combination with a business acumen attitude and strong communication skills.

You support the strategic planning and delivery of all medical affairs initiatives in a specific brand to support the local objectives. Next to that you help the cross-functional team who is active in the Therapeutic Area to ensure that they optimally contribute to their specific task.

**Your main tasks**
- Lead the Medical educators Team to be best in class (scientific expertise, communication skills, business acumen) and ensure development and execution of the team Action Plans
- Recruit the right talent for the role of the medical educators based on scientific or technical ability, business acumen, communication skills and positive attitude
- Conduct one on one meeting/field visit to coach and review Medical Educators team capabilities in line with the G&Os set for each member of the group
- Develop fundamental training for development of the Medical educators’ capabilities initially and sustain trainings (capabilities and/or scientific knowledge) after one on one coaching if needed
- Retain and develop high performing MES’s through ongoing development and individual plans
- Responsible (development and execution) for integrated medical affairs plan and associated budget
- Proactively contribute medical & clinical expertise and insights to the brand strategy, for the successful launch and prelaunch activities and life cycle management (LCM) of new & growth products
- Understand, anticipate, communicate, and address data gaps and unmet needs of external stakeholders
- Act as medical reviewer for activities and promotional materials in accordance with compliance guidelines
- Collaborate closely with BU, market access, regulatory, medical information, patient safety and clinical trials unit
- Ensure scientific and medical accuracy of outgoing materials, research papers and other reports, and may have sign off authority
- Develop and enhances professional relationships with HCPs/KEEs, professional societies and patient organizations.
- Generate product related insights by regular peer to peer visits (20% time in field) and provides those to relevant internal partners
- Organize and conducts medical education, scientific exchange, and advisory board meetings
- Define and delivers training on medical background of the product
- Evaluate externally provided research (ESR-) proposals as part of local review and evaluation group and supports conduction of such projects according to milestones set
- Provide scientific and strategic input to the respective MSL activities. Can take up mentorship of MSL
- Works closely with senior practitioners to develop the marketing direction of a brand in a local market
- Ensure own scientific knowledge of best practices and new relevant developments are up-to-date
- Accountability for the MES strategy based on available evidence, evidence gaps and local environmental conditions, balancing the cross-functional goals set for the different TAs the MES’s are working in
- Facilitates patient insight knowledge sharing by raising awareness about patient insight strategies and activities
- Maintains a good working knowledge of company standards on medicines promotion and supports the Nominated Signatories in ensuring compliance standards for external audiences

**Your Profile**
- University degree in a health-related scientific field, such as MD or PhD
- Ideally, greater than 5 years’ experience of Medical Affairs within a pharmaceutical industry. Previous management experience is an advantage
- Good understanding of respiratory and immunology development and execution of medical affairs plans, previous knowledge in respiratory and immunology is a plus
- Professional experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferentially as MSL, or MA or within Medical Affairs in one of the therapeutic areas mentioned above; experience within Clinical research will also be considered
- Thorough knowledge of the local regulatory and market access requiremen
