**What you’ll do**:
In your role as Medical Science Lead, Mental Health you will be a thought leader advancing precision and personalized medicine for people living with Mental Health Disorders and in particular depression, according to the following mission statements:

- Provide scientific and medical leadership to the ideation and development of BDH HCP/Patient Solutions in the fields of Mental Health, in close collaboration with BDH Solutions General Managers/Product Teams
- Drive strategic integration across research and medical evidence generation of digital health technologies (DHT) to yield more objective, precise, and ecological measures of disease course in anxiety and depression disorders
- Lead efforts to turn rich multidimensional dataset into individualized predictive solutions supporting research and clinical care
- Provide scientific and clinical leadership to external Digital Health partnerships and investments in the field of Mental Health disorders.

This role is of key importance to achieve the strategic vision and objective to make Biogen a recognized leader in digital health sciences, hence contributing to our corporate vision & strategy - this role will report to the BDH Medical Science & Digital Biomarker Head.

You will be a transformation leader internally to drive acceleration of digital health in partnership with key Medical (Worldwide Medical, including Global Therapeutic Area teams, Health Outcomes Research, etc) and Research and Development functions (Clinical Sciences, Clinical Operations, relevant development and research units).

You will develop, validate, and drive strategic integration across research and medical evidence generation of digital health technologies (DHT) to yield more objective, precise, and ecological measures of disease course in anxiety and depressive disorders
- Work closely with General Managers for BDH Digital Solutions, and provide strategic medical leadership for evidence generation programs that incorporate digital technology to advance personalized outcome research in mental health
- Work collaboratively across BDH, Biogen Worldwide Medical Research, and Research and Development Units and to advance a transformative « digital medicine » strategy to assess and monitor disease activity & progression in anxiety and depression disorders using passive and active measurements methods (Biometric Monitoring Technologies).
- Drive strategic integration of digital medicine within Biogen’s Worldwide Medical and R&D strategies
- Provide scientific and clinical leadership to digital biomarkers team members

Lead efforts to turn rich multidimensional dataset into individualized predictive solutions supporting research and clinical care

As BDH consolidates its external innovation strategy, the leader will collaborate to the exploration of inorganic opportunities to partner on solutions for faster go to market or potentially invest / acquire solutions. The scientific diligence of these activities will rely on this leadership role.
**Medical leadership**: drive cohesive strategic plan for BDH Medical Science, in close partnership with BDH Science Unit, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence and partnership across organization. Attract and retain world class talents and drive high employee engagement.
**Thought leadership**: represent Biogen’s digital health organization and its Mental Health expertise across internal teams at all levels and externally

**Qualifications**:

- MD or MD PhD, PhD Scientist, PharmD, PhD
- Intrinsic passion for advancing human disease understanding and transforming healthcare using digital technologies
- more than 8 years Pharma/Biotech industry experience, clinical development and/or medical affairs; alternatively extensive leadership experience in academic/clinical centers of excellence
- Extensive expertise in the field of Mental Health as well as experience in digital health in Mental Heal
