We are recruiting for a field-based

**Medical Science Liaison, MS**

for the German-speaking part of Switzerland

**About the role**

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) is the medical scientific expert and first medical contact for the external and internal stakeholders in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the field for Biogen’s MS products and pipeline with focus on the university and big MS centers.

The incumbent provides inputs from insights in the field on medical strategy and implements timely and ethically medical tactics in his/her area. The Medical Scientific Liaison is continuously scientifically and medically updated on the disease, scientific data related to MS Biogen studies, products, pipeline, as well as on the competitive MS products. He/she shares his/her scientific/medical expertise with the Swiss brand team and with external stakeholders on regular base to ensure excellence in educational programs, medical activities, and to support cross-functional projects.

He/she generates, discusses scientific complex data and clearly communicates key messages, and to provide trainings on need to the team as well as Key Medical Experts/HCPs. He/she is able to lead advisory boards or round tables to gain insights from Health Care Professionals on defined topics. He/She answers scientific/medical questions, proposes and develops innovative projects/studies in alignment with the strategy and follows up.

The MSL develops and maintains strong partnerships with HCPs for his/her area of expertise. He /She attends key medical scientific events including national and/or international congresses related to his/her therapeutic area.

**What You’ll Do**
- Interaction with HCPs/ KMEs in dedicated MSL area (German-speaking part of Switzerland)
- Understand, present and discuss highly relevant medical and scientific data with selected neurologists and KMEs with focus on MS narratives, like disease awareness, diagnosis, therapy monitoring, patient outcome
- Safety updates for Biogen MS products
- Real world data including comparative effectiveness data concerning MS portfolio
- Gathering meaningful medical insights and sharing with internal stakeholders
- Top KME engagement
- Engages with KMEs in scientific or medical projects and platforms in close collaboration with the Medical Team
- Contacts, meets, discusses and follows up engagements with top KMEs
- Attends university /KMEs events relevant for his area of expertise and of territory
- Medical education platforms
- Develops and leads medical educational platforms like stand alones, nationwide cooperation programs, e.g., expert meetings, workshop groups, round tables, local advisory boards
- Defining unmet needs in his/her area of expertise, in alignment with the strategy
- Creating, inviting and leading project groups or platforms based on detailed project plan and tracking strong execution
- Providing excellence in training and answering scientific / clinical/medical questions, in a balanced and fair manner
- Measuring impact, outcome and value of the educational programs and medical projects
- Constantly informing all relevant internal stakeholders about the status of projects, and following up ongoing projects
- Study projects
- Management of investigator initiated trials (IIT) and sponsored research aggreements (SRA)
- Discussion with investigator about concept papers
- Check of alignment with Biogen areas of interest
- Defending the project ideas during discussion with the MMRC
- Support of Clinical country lead /Global Company Operational Phase 2 and 3 studies
- Congresses
- Attends selected congresses and supports or leads KME engagement programs
- Supports the booth /Medical corner team upon need
- Project lead for congress programs with attendees incl. planning, executing and follow up activities
- Increases his/her knowledge in terms of last publications and posters presented at congresses, and shares with team

**Who You Are**

You have seen and learned the Medical Affairs basics and have already advanced your skills ideally with first project work. You are ready to take on your next challenge in an innovative enrvironment. You are an open minded individual who has a vision of how to position yourself and your projects by enganging in sustainable, cross-functional and external relationships.

**Qualifications**:

- Master to Doctorat degree in a life-science or basic-science discipline (Pharm.D., D.Sc., Master, Ph.D., or M.D. / D.O.) with medical/technical scientific training background
- Ideally, more than 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on speciality care/medical, particularly in Neuroscience and /or in orphan diseases.
- Proactive in proposing innovating projects based on customers/patients unmet needs
- Proven competence developing and strategy & execution capabilities.
