The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.
Located within the UN Environment Division of Economy, the Resources & Markets Branch (UNEP-RMB) seeks to conserve the environment, reduce poverty, and promote sustainable development by enhancing the capacity of governments, businesses, and civil society to integrate environmental considerations into economic, trade, and financial policies and practices in accordance with the partnership and integrated policy-making approaches of sustainable development.
The UNEP FI Internship for Investment Leadership Programme is for six (6) months.
The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
**Responsibilities**:
The intern will work with the UNEP FI Investment Team and the position will contribute to support the UNEP FI Secretariat on the following tasks:
1) Overall support on organizing meetings, webinars and workshops for the Investment Leadership Programme, with a focus on the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance MRV Track Level
2) Coordinate membership assignments of working groups and across the track
3) Ensure internal member platforms are up to date on MRV Track Level but also across Tracks
4) Assist MRV Track on preparation and implementation of voting processes and results analysis
5) Take initiative to support on internal process improvements
6) Undertake additional operational duties for the AOA secretariat if and when required. It may include but is not limited to: Manage improvements of contact management system on all track level, supporting AOA Operations Manager in various task

Education
a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
c. Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Work Experience
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.
