UNEP FI’s Impact & SDG workstream is an integral part of its efforts to fulfil its mission to "identify, promote, and realise the adoption of best environmental and sustainability practice at all levels of financial institution operations". By developing a common understanding of what constitutes positive impact finance and working with members, their clients and with public partiers on the development of new business and financing models the workstream is a central contribution to the mobilisation of mainstream finance for sustainability goals.

**Responsibilities**:
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.

The overall objective of the UNEP’s Economy Division is to encourage decision makers in government, local authorities and industry to develop and adopt policies, strategies and practices and technologies that promote sustainable patterns of consumption and production, make efficient use of natural resources, ensure safe management of chemicals and contribute to making trade and environment policies mutually supportive. It promotes the development, use and transfer of policies, technologies, economic instruments, managerial practices and other tools that assist in environmentally sound decision making and the building of corresponding activities.

The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a strategic partnership between UNEP and the global financial sector. UNEP FI works with approximately 400 financial institutions and a range of partners and organisations, to understand the linkages between sustainability issues and finance and to promote sustainable finance internationally.

UNEP FI needs a Content Manager to manage its Impact Protocol.

The objective:

- Draft version of the new edition of the Impact Radar & Mappings
- Initial addition of content to IMP Resource List (finance sector)
- Database supporting R&D Agenda work stream on nomenclature is designed

The outputs:

- Final version of the new edition of the Impact Radar & Mappings
- Consolidated Resource List & Additional interoperability features on IMP website
- Database supporting R&D Agenda work stream on nomenclature is developed and maintained

Specific tasks and responsibilities:
UNEP FI requires a Content Management Consultant to:

- Lead and implement the development of the new iterations of the Impact Mappings (sector/impact, needs, other as relevant).
- Coordinate with and support the rest of the Impact & SDG Team (other consultants, and also interns) as appropriate, namely as regards the on-going development and iteration of the Impact Protocol and Tools.
- Support the Working Groups set up for the on-going development of UNEP FI’s Holistic Impact methodology and tools: work plan development, meeting preparations and discussions.
- Work with UNEP FI’s partners and counterparties in the Impact Management Platform (IMP) to create interoperability mechanisms between the UNEP FI Protocol and tools and their resources, in particular via the dedicated features of the IMP website.
- Work with UNEP FI’s partners and counterparties in the Impact Management Platform (IMP) to develop and deliver the Platform’s R&D Agenda, in particular as regards nomenclature, indicators and metrics.
- Support the IMP Partner and governance meetings: Core Team preparatory work and discussions.
- Support the Impact & SDG Programme Lead with related tasks as appropriate and participate in UNEP FI Team meetings and activities as appropriate.

The Consultant will be reporting to the Head of UNEP FI and the UNEP FI Impact & SDGs Programme Lead.

Qualifications/special skills
Skills and knowledge: Familiarity and solid understanding of the sustainable business and sustainable finance agenda, including the main standards, norms, frameworks and players that currently define this field. Familiarity with the main approaches to impact measurement and management. Excellent analytical skills and capacity to understand complex / multi-facetted issues. Quick learner and motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a highly collaborative and international environment. Good interpersonal skills. IT - Skills in Excel and WordPress required.

Academic Qualifications: Masters’ Degree involving a combination of the following areas: finance, business administration, environmental / sustainable development studies, economics, international relations.
