Egeria Group AG (EGAG) in Zug is looking for a Controller to join their finance team. You’ll fulfill an important role in assisting the Group CFO and Group Controller in ensuring the robust and reliable day-to-day operation of the finance department and record keeping for all designated legal entities within the Egeria Group (active in private equity, fund of fund, real estate and listed investments). In this broad role you’ll have the opportunity to discover all facets of controlling and to further develop yourself in this area.

**About the team**

In addition to this position, the team consists of the Group CFO, Group Controller and an Accountant. You are part of a close-knit and highly skilled team with a no-nonsense mentality. We are entrepreneurial, appreciate a hands-on approach and together we like to put our shoulders to the wheel. We attach great importance to a positive atmosphere, we believe it is important to celebrate successes together and regularly organize social team activities.

Training is important to us, in the form of training, but we also strongly believe in “learning on the job”, “(technical) trainings” and “knowledge-sharing”. You get a lot of responsibility, are expected to be very diligent and discrete, also work closely together with your counterparts in the offices abroad, and contribute to the performance of the finance department.

The team in Zug is overseeing all activities within the group in five different jurisdictions. Therefore, experience in accounting for investments, participations and multiple currencies/jurisdictions is highly beneficial. Solid accounting system and Excel skills would round off the profile.

**Controller**

As the Controller you are responsible for the following:

- Day-to-day operations and financial management of a Swiss holding company and several foreign sub holdings, support the Group CFO and Group Controller in overseeing all subsidiaries and investments within the group
- Liaise with the finance counterparts within the group to ensure timely and concise reporting
- Support the Group CFO and Group Controller in continuously improving accounting, financial control and financial planning systems, including the internal risk management and control systems, and the periodic assessment of its effectiveness
- Responsible for the tracking of investment, cashflow, monitor/benchmark performance and the preparation and filing of financial statements according to Swiss or Dutch accounting principles, including the coordination and preparation of adequate documentation for audit files to be used by Group CFO or our external auditors
- Responsible for the preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, WHT, CIT, Stamp Duty, FATCA forms, etc), compliance with tax rulings, coordination with tax advisors and reconciliation of tax assessments to tax filings
- Responsible for maintain and safeguarding the accuracy and completeness of master data
- In assisting the preparation of monthly/quarterly/yearly reports and the completion of the periodic asset valuation and support the Group CFO in reporting to the stakeholders
- Assess the financial impact of legal and tax documentation related to a transaction, including reporting consequences
- Ensure compliance with the Organizational Regulations and Corporate Governance Principles, all Egeria and ECM policies and applicable laws and regulations (e.g. AML, KYC, FEC, etc.) and periodic assistance of the Compliance Officer in day to day operations and compliance projects
- Process capital calls for investments, prepare distributions of funds and support in the treasury and liquidity management activities
- Train and support the Accountant in his/her role and support the Group CFO and Group Controller in various financial, IT- and other projects
- Liaise with the EGS manager and support in the cost allocation to the different practices within the group, contribute to continuously improve the service offering
- Assist the Group Controller in his responsibility to ensuring that all management and control systems are fit for purpose on a group level
- Able to work with and safeguard highly sensitive and confidential information

**Key qualifications**
- At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in accounting/finance (big 8 or experience in investment management or real estate a plus)
- Solid understanding of tax, accounting, financial processes and regulatory environment related to a Swiss financial holding or investment group
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent German and English language skills, Dutch would be beneficial
- Detail oriented and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong affinity with IT, experience with implementing and using modern accounting and portfolio management software very beneficial
- Advanced Skills in Microsoft Applications
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
