The Platform on the Future of Digital Economy and New Value Creation seeks to accelerate inclusive, responsible and sustainable transformation of industries and societies.
This position will facilitate exchange of insights and collaboration among Forum partners to advance the platform’s mission.
Why we are recruiting
Industries are in transformation - companies are exploring new value creation models that are increasingly digital and data enabled, circular, reliant on renewable energy, and fit for the new future of work. While digital and frontier technologies and models are disrupting all companies, only half say they are prepared to successfully navigate those disruptions. The Digital Transformation for Long-Term Growth Initiative brings together industry leaders, innovators, experts, and policymakers to shape digitally competitive, sustainable and resilient industries.
The Insights Lead will be a critical part of advancing this work, by facilitating the generation and exchange of insights on frontier technologies and business models from Forum communities such as Chief Digital Officers and expert groups such as the Quantum Economy Network. These efforts will aim to provide strategic guidance, practical tools and resources for companies across industries to better understand and act on opportunities created by digital and frontier technologies.
Reporting Lines and Interactions
This position will report to Head, Platform Strategy, Digital Economy and New Value Creation, based at the Forum’s offices in Geneva.
Within the Forum, the Insights Lead will coordinate and collaborate closely with teams managing business and government engagement, innovator community and industry communities including but not limited to manufacturing, energy, health, technology, retail and hospitality, finance, and real estate.
**Responsibilities**:
- Engage Chief Digital Officers and innovators from across industries to generate and exchange insights on frontier technologies and related themes- Build and maintain collaboration with relevant influencers, thought leaders and experts from business, academia, think tanks and other fields- Collaborate regularly with Forum colleagues managing industry, innovator and expert communities.- Stay abreast of new developments, actors and collaborations in the space- Prepare for and facilitate sessions at key Forum events such as the Annual Meeting in Davos and Global Technology Summit, and meetings of the Forum’s Chief Digital Officers community with senior executives, supported by external and internal communications.- Collaborate closely with partner development teams to retain and recruit diverse and relevant private and public sector experts and leaders.- Shape and deliver thought leadership activities throughout the year, including white papers, knowledge repositories and blogs showcasing innovative examples- Ensure implementation of harmonized approaches and methods across the Lead’s thematic portfolio of work and supporting continuous improvement and iteration.- Keep a consistent focus on ambitious impact and engagement outcomes.- Work closely with the Head of Platform Strategy to identify areas to strengthen the platform’s impact.
Requirements and Experience- Master’s degree or equivalent in business management, economics, or related degree.- 8+ years work experience in strategy, consulting, industry, business operations, think tanks, research or related fields.- Prior exposure to, and interest in frontier technologies such as quantum technologies, advanced energy solutions, bioeconomy.- Strategic thinking with ability to identify trends and patterns of technology and industry transformation- Hands-on experience developing and managing complex projects, including interacting with executive leaders, and helping to turn ideas into tangible action and impact.- and short-term objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.- Strong interest in driving impact and systems change in global industries
