**About This Role**
The Distribution Packaging Manager is a member of the Global Distribution Packaging & Shipping Qualification group. He/she is a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) on distribution packaging, cold chain solutions, and shipping qualification. This position is responsible for supporting the selection, qualification, and implementation of optimal logistics solutions that address temperature-controlled supply chain needs.
In this role, you will lead and/or assist in the design, development, testing, and support of clinical, commercial, and cold-chain distribution packaging and shipping qualification.
**What You’ll Do**
- Lead mid-to-high complexity improvement projects focused on distribution.
- Lead engineer for design, development and testing of high level, complex distribution packaging projects from conceptual design through implementation.
- Support/Lead the selection of new vendors and assists in the management of vendor relationships.
- Manage external vendors and Contributes to the design, development and testing of high level, complex packaging projects from conceptual design through implementation
- Contribute to standards for use by CMOs and affiliates to address external temperature excursions.
- Lead weekly cross-functionally shipping qualification sub-teams with Logistics, External/Internal Manufacturing, Warehouse, QC, QC, and any other Biogen functions as it relates to the coordination of shipping qualification activities.
- Responsible for drafting strategy/plans, operational protocols/reports, and supply chain study protocols/reports, periodic reviews, annual product reviews, re-qualifications for clinical and commercial programs.
- Provide key stakeholder updates to asset teams and upper management. Serves as a point of contact on tech transfers and program sub-teams for all temp controlled distribution packaging work.
- Represent GDCCS in audits and inspections. Support BLA submissions, responses to audits/health authority inspections, and regulatory agency questions related to shipping qualification.

**Required Skills**:
- BA degree and a minimum of 5-7 years packaging, global logistics or temperature controlled supply chain experience OR MS + mínimal experience.
- Experience within an international and regulated environment is required.
- Working knowledge of packaging related standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills (excellent written and verbal communicator with the ability to articulate recommendations and key decision points to senior management).
- Ability to work in fast paced environments and great organizational skills to effectively balance a broad range of projects and tasks in parallel
- Exceptional team player (ability to direct and participate in cross functional and management teams). Ability to develop a strong network across the company.
- Excellent project management experience and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Expertise and operational understanding of Temperature Controlled/Cold Chain Logistics, Transportation, Packaging.
- US Domestic and International experience required.
Additional Information
This role offers and End to End Global scope, requiring you to perform shipping qualification for new product introductions in support of BLA and regulatory submissions. You will support both our Clinical and Commercial programs and work with Internal as well as External Sites.
