The Bank for International Settlements, BIS has an opportunity available for a Principal Technology Risk Manager to join our team in Basel, Switzerland.

As the Senior Technology Risk Manager, you will lead all aspects of technology risk management, working with Bank-wide IT delivery teams, Internal Audit, Compliance, Operational Risk Management, Corporate Security to build Bank-wide technology risk management practices and an effective second line of defence (2LoD) for technology risk.

**Principal accountabilities**:

- Lead the implementation of a 2LoD for technology risk, ensuring effective risk prevention, monitoring, identification, mitigation, and reporting becomes core to the Bank’s daily activities and planning processes
- Advise Bank-wide IT delivery teams operating the first line of defence (1LoD) on technology risk issues and conformance with the applicable standards and processes
- Design and operate a process that ensures effective 1LoD and 2LoD controls are implemented, monitored and reported
- Support the ongoing development of the Bank’s overall operational risk framework, including defining formal policies and procedures, and ensure conformance with it for technology risk
- Partner across 2nd lines to support consistency of processes, assessments, action plans and elevations
- Identify, monitor, maintain and continuously improve the control set for technology risk, including documentation and KRIs
- Run the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) evaluation and reporting process for technology risk

**Qualifications, skills, and experience**:

- Solid knowledge of technology risk management and the three lines of defence (3LoD) model
- Experience in running 2nd LOD technology risk management activities at a central bank or financial markets institution
- Broad knowledge of enterprise IT architecture and technology
- Experience facilitating risk management workshops including material development
- Experience in coordinating interdisciplinary working groups, ideally in an international environment
- Excellent drafting and writing skills in English particularly for policy documentation
- Excellent command of GRC tools, PowerPoint, Excel and project management software
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity with experience curating diverse perspectives
