**About the role**:
**We are looking for an experienced French-speaking Business Development Manager to join our team of highly motivated professionals who are passionate about fighting climate change. As our first business developer in the French market, you have the chance to help us define and execute the local customer acquisition strategy.**:
**You will work closely with other Vaayu Business Developers to share best practices, as well as work with the Product team to address customer needs, and with the CEO to discuss strategy. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic entrepreneurial person who enjoys a challenge: selling a new SaaS product in a new market. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be adaptable, highly collaborative, and enjoy working on solutions to complex problems.**:

**What This Looks Like (Your Responsibilities)**:
- Building a tailored and effective go-to-market strategy for the French market that defines and successfully communicates how Vaayu can help French retailers and e-commerce companies.
- Autonomy over workflow and managing full sales cycles from contact to contract with medium to large-sized businesses.
- Understanding stakeholder mindsets and adapting communication styles accordingly will be key, as typical points of contact are Sustainability Directors and C-Suite Executives.
- Collecting feedback from the market and translating that into insights for the Product, Communication and Business Development teams.
- Helping us develop processes and materials that optimize customer acquisition. This could mean providing input to sales decks, Vaayu's website, and sales strategies.
**Who We Are Looking For (Qualifications)**:
- 3+ years of experience from sales or business development roles for enterprise clients.
- Strong preference for applicants with prior experience selling software to retailers or working within the sustainability space.
- You are curious, a great listener, and approach prospects with a consultative mindset.
- You have excellent communication skills with the ability to turn complicated concepts into simple points and engaging conversations.
- You are fluent in both English and French.
- You are proactive and take responsibility for the success of the startup.
- You are passionate about leveraging technology and science to fight climate change.
**Additional Useful Experience**:
- Previous experience from a high-growth SaaS company or funded startup.
- Previous experience opening a territory from scratch.
- Understanding of carbon calculation, life cycle assessment and sustainability.
