**Background Information**

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration
and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is
dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by
providing services and advice to governments and migrants.IOM is undertaking a Business
Transformation (BT) process, a priority driven by IOM’s Internal Governance Framework (IGF)
reform. BT is a business-driven initiative. The scope includes budget and finance,
programme/project management, supply chain management, human capital management,
contracts, governance/risk/compliance, and donor relationship management. IOM has
undertaken a global review of current business process flows to update its systems and
establish a fit-for-future set of management methods, policies, controls, processes, and systems
globally.

BT is underpinned by the implementation of the Oracle Cloud ERP platform and related
technologies migrating from the current ERP PRISM system based on SAP ECC 6.

**Supervision**

Under the overall administrative supervision of the Director of Business Transformation (BT) and
the direct supervision of the BT Data Migration Lead, the Intern - Data Migration will be
responsible for working within the Geneva based BT team to execute activities as directed to
prepare data for loading to the target solutions of the Business Transformation.

**_ Core Functions / Responsibilities:_**

Under the guidance of the BT data migration lead:
1. Prepare data for migration to Oracle.

3. Address any questions during data preparation

4. As required for data preparation, collaborate with BT team members: BT Stream Leads,

5. Review data quality, provide feedback on quality issues observed and propose remediation.

6. Use tools such as MS Excel and / or MS Access to prepare data in Oracle-provided target
templates at the level of quality and completeness required for loading into Oracle.

7. Where feasible / appropriate maintain automated procedures to populate Oracle-provided
templates in a repeatable, controllable manner.

8. Support unit testing of data migration processes through the provision of test data.

9. Support data migration cycles.

10. Document data migration procedures.

**Training Components and Learning Elements**

1. Review raw data in order to assess completeness and compatibility by comparing it to
specified Oracle requirements.

3. Review data and issues with BT team members and business colleagues to ensure
completeness and address issues by meeting with relevant parties and discussing open points.

4. Determine and monitor progress of data migration documentation to ensure all data migration
objects are documented by reviewing the data object master list and comparing this to the
documentation that has been created.

5. Evaluate data migration documentation to ensure completeness by reading and reviewing
specification documents.

6. Work with colleagues in the data migration team to update and complete documentation by
identifying where documents require updates and working with team members to provide
missing information.

**_ Required Qualifications and Experience:_**

**Education**
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Supply Chain,

Human Resources or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or,
- University degree in the above fields.

**Experience**
- No specific experience is required. Knowledge or experience in the following areas would be

an advantage:

- Business administration, human resources, financial management, budget monitoring, cash

management and /or internal control procedures; and,
- Data analysis and data preparation.

**Languages**

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be
fluent in one of the three languages.

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of another
official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,
which may include written and/or oral assessments
