An opportunity exists to join the Assurance team as the Head of Corporate and Financial Markets. Reporting to the Global Head of Group Assurance you will be responsible for leading and managing the internal audit function for our corporate and commodity trading business, focusing on metals, energy, oil and power, both physical and derivative.

**Accountabilities of the Role**

The Head of Corporate & Financial Markets is a highly specialized position providing robust and objective assurance on, and insight and advice about, the design and operation of effective governance, risk management and internal control arrangements for the corporate and commodity trading business.

As a leader of the audit function you will play a critical role in driving effective risk management and ensuring operational excellence. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Developing and executing the annual audit plan for the financial markets business unit, taking into consideration the risk profile of the organization and focusing on key areas such as finance, risk management, internal controls, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Providing independent and objective assessments of the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control systems, risk management frameworks, and governance structures within the financial markets business unit.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the internal audit strategy and framework for Glencore, with a particular focus on the financial markets business unit and corporate functions aligning them with the overall objectives and goals of the organization.
- Building and managing a high-performing team of audit professionals, mentoring and providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure high-quality audit services are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborating with other functions within the organization, including risk management, compliance, legal, and finance, to ensure that audit findings and recommendations are adequately addressed, and appropriate actions are taken.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with senior management and other stakeholders within the financial markets business unit, providing guidance, advice, and insights on risk and control matters, and serving as a trusted advisor to the Head of Assurance.
- Providing regular reports and updates to the Global Head of Group Assurance and other senior stakeholders on audit findings, recommendations, and progress, demonstrating transparency, accuracy, and professionalism in all communications.

**Essential qualifications and experience required of the Role.**

**Requirements**:

- Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced degree and relevant professional certifications (CA, CPA, CIA, CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in auditing or risk management, preferably in commodities trading, capital markets, or financial services.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of commodities trading products, derivatives, risk management, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to think strategically and analytically, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
