As Enterprise Risk Manager you will support the MS AAG Board by providing transparency over all material risks faced by MS AAG through various reporting activities and the annual business plan review. You will play a key role in helping to establish a robust risk appetite, tolerance and limit framework and lead operational risk management activities within MS AAG.
About the role
Reporting to the MS AAG Senior Enterprise Risk Manager the role holder will support the Enterprise Risk Management activities with specific responsibility for:
- Maintaining a holistic oversight of all material risks, their ranking, key focus areas and actions, and topics for discussion at the Executive and the Board.
- Creation of effective and concise risk reports that meet the needs of different stakeholders (Risk & Solvency Committee, the Board, Rating Agencies and Regulators).
- Support in the development of a robust operational risk management framework through regular review of material risks and key controls identified by the first line, and escalation to the Board of operational risks outside of tolerance alongside progress on mitigation actions.
- Collaborate with our intra-group service provider ABS to ensure our Internal Control System tool (Xactium) meets MS AAG business needs.
- Provide support and challenge to the business in respect of operational risks to help them effectively meet their risk related goals and responsibilities.
- Promote good risk taking behaviours through regular risk training and feedback to the business on their risk taking behaviours.
- Coordinate work and discussions on the annual Risk Management review of plan, risk appetite, tolerance and limit setting.
- Coordinate and provide risk expertise as part of the Emerging Risk Management process. Facilitate discussion on the Emerging Risk Matrix at the Executive and Board.
**Profile**:
- Experience in risk reporting including regulatory reporting such as the ORSA. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent English is a must, German is a plus.
- Strong operational risk and controls background, gained either within a Risk Function or Internal Audit, combined with a solid understanding of (re)insurance business processes.
- A (re)insurance professional with a numerate degree. Additional qualifications such as a Chartered Internal Auditor or Chartered Accountant is preferred.
- Ability to analyse information and data from various information providers, identify issues and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Confidence to challenge the first line of defence.
- Support for presenting information to Boards and governance forums as required.
- Independent self-starter with commercial mind-set, as well as excellent organisation and time management skills.
- A team player, willing to challenge constructively, share knowledge and experience.
- Experience of working across an international community.
