Director, Last Mile & Cash Flow Management, EMEA
Location: Zug, Switzerland, Cork, Ireland or Diegem, Belgium
The Director, Last Mile & Cash Flow Management plays a pivotal role in enabling capital-efficient, profitable, and compliant growth for EMEA Orthopaedics business through strategic asset utilization and investment. The role focuses on optimizing service levels, cash flow, and business processes while upholding quality and compliance standards. The role oversees Inventory Business Planning and Optimization efforts and works closely with Commercial Operations and Regional Planning to ensure robust governance and execution of Capital Expenditure per year.
This position will also lead the deployment of the Global Orthopaedics Last Mile Operating Model across EMEA markets, driving operational performance to support profitable growth. Additionally, it oversees programs, processes, and organizational capabilities to achieve business objectives related to Cash Flow, Asset Management, and Excess & Obsolescence (E&O), collaborating extensively with regional, global, and local supply chain, commercial, and finance teams.
Last Mile Operational Model Deployment
- Implement Last Mile Operational Metrics and Forums: Develop and roll out operational metrics tailored to the Last Mile model. Lead forums that prioritize enhancing operational performance, aligning efforts to achieve commercial objectives.
- Deploy New Asset Management Capabilities: Introduce and implement Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Asset Management capabilities. Enable the region to pursue capital-efficient, profitable growth while strengthening alignment with strategic goals.
Asset Visibility, Accuracy, and Insights
- Process & Tool Development: Develop tools and processes for end-to-end visibility of assets, including field inventory, loaners, consignment stock, and kits, ensuring ERP integration and compliance.
- Inventory Governance: Establish governance frameworks to monitor progress, track corrective actions, and enhance accuracy through inventory counts.
Inventory and IBP Process Optimization and Execution
- Process Management and Improvement: Implement processes for excess inventory pull-back, redeployment, and linking Capex investments with inventory targets, E&O management, and business opportunities.
- Execution: Drive execution of inventory plans, including Inventory Long-Range Financial Planning (LRFP), business planning updates, and strategic programs like MDR, OTC, and Portfolio Projects.
People and Organizational Development
- Team Building: Build regional and market-level capabilities in inventory and asset management, ensuring alignment with global strategies.
- Drive Organizational Growth: Foster engagement by aligning team objectives with broader business goals and driving organizational growth through talent attraction, training, and development.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Technical, or Operations disciplines required.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Supply Chain Planning, S&OP, Demand Planning, Inventory Management or other Business roles.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills with the ability to collaborate across geographies in a complex, matrix environment.
- Proven expertise in process management and leading cross-functional global projects.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (preferred).
- Demonstrated financial acumen, with the ability to link operational decisions to business financial outcomes, including cost optimization and capital efficiency.
- Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to craft long-term objectives and effectively translate strategy into actionable execution for sustainable growth.
