The trade and investment community brings together leading global companies with policymakers from around the world. It fosters structured dialogue on challenges and opportunities for resilient, sustainable, and inclusive trade and works through global, regional, and national initiatives to drive impactful reform in three pillars:
- Ensuring open and resilient markets- Easing flows of physical and digital trade, investment, finance, payment and information- Supporting equitable and sustainable value chains
Why we are recruiting:
With the rise of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, the means to facilitate international trade are growing. Digitalization and advanced technologies have the potential to significantly reduce processing times and the cost of cross-border movements of goods, and further facilitate trade in services. Yet, as emerging technologies shape trade flows faster than trade policies can adapt, disruptions are expected to accelerate in the coming decades.
The TradeTech Global Initiative catalyses the emergence of TradeTech to meet the world’s needs, by building cooperation between innovators, investors and policy-makers globally.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage the TradeTech Global Initiative and team- Build a senior community of TradeTech entrepreneurs, corporate partners, investors and policy makers- Lead the delivery of a high-quality annual TradeTech forum and an annual report- Initiate a series of hackathons and other exercises to identify and test technology solutions to trade needs- Work with government in building a global incubator for TradeTech, including but not limited to venture labs, training and mentoring programs, and corporate engagement programs- Collaborate with local government and international organizations to develop “regulatory sandbox” for new regulations to enable new technologies for trade- Provide capacity-building assistance to developing country administrations to pilot the implementation of TradeTech solutions
Preferred requirements and experience:- Strong understanding of trade, logistics and supply chain finance, technology development and investment;- Strong project management skills to design and drive medium to large-scale project design and delivery.- Strong project management skills to design and drive medium to large-scale project design and delivery.- Demonstrated ability to work across different cultures and with high level officials and executives.- Excellent communication skills, able to organise complex issues into clear formats for non-technical audiences.- Experience in the Middle East is an advantage;- University degree in engineering, technology, finance or related field
