**Organizational Context**:
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies. The overall aim of the IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” The IFRC works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.

The IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement), together with its member National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The work of the IFRC is guided by the following fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

The IFRC has five regional offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The IFRC also has country cluster delegations and country delegations throughout the world. Together, the Geneva Headquarters and the field structure (regional, cluster and country delegations) comprise the IFRC Secretariat.

At Geneva level the Health and Care Department focuses on two strategic directions;

- Transformative Partnership

**Job Purpose**:
The overall objective of this consultancy is to support the development of funding proposals, the full project management cycle and narrative reporting across multiple programmes globally and with multiple partner organizations.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Support the development of funding proposals**:

- IFRC develops and submits multiple funding proposals annually.
- Some funding proposals request the continuation of existing funding under an established collaboration with a funding partner or in support of an ongoing programme.
- Other funding proposals will be developed and submitted to new funding partners that IFRC may have never worked with or has limited working experience with.
- The scope of funding proposals that IFRC develops varies greatly. Some funding proposals are relatively small in scale, scope and complexity (less then USD 1 million, 12 months in duration, limited implementing partners). Other funding proposals are large in scale, scope and complexity (USD 100’s of millions, multiple years, a consortium of internal and external partners where IFRC leads or plays a supporting role).
- The development of funding proposals will require close collaboration with various IFRC support departments and external partners including;

**Support to the full project management cycle**:

**Support to narrative reporting across multiple programmes and partner agencies**
- Support the development of high-quality narrative reporting base on the reporting requirements, timelines and templates agreed with the various partners that fund IFRC’s activities.

**Management of consultancy**

The consultant will be managed by the Manager, Health Systems Strengthening team with technical support from various thematic file holders within the Health System Strengthening team.

**Time allocation and location**

At time of writing there will be no travel associated with this consultancy. All work can be done from the consultant’s home location.

**Experience**:
**Required**
- Experience in grant management, proposal and report writing.

**Preferred**
- Prior experience within the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement is desirable.

**Knowledge, Skills and Languages**:
