**Organizational Context**:
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies. The overall aim of the IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” The IFRC works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.

The IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement), together with its member National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The work of the IFRC is guided by the following fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

The IFRC has five regional offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The IFRC also has country cluster delegations and country delegations throughout the world.

IFRC’s Africa Region office is based in Nairobi, Kenya and supports 49 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies through its Country Cluster Support Teams and Country Offices. IFRC and its member National Societies have received funding to support immunization activities from the following partners; BMGF, CDC Atlanta, Gavi, UN Foundation, UNICEF, USAID and a number of supporting National Societies.

**Job Purpose**:
The overall objective of this consultancy is to provide technical support to National Societies in Africa Region which are implement immunization activities in the following areas:

- Support National Societies to oversee programme implementation across the complete spectrum of immunization activities supported.
- Support National Societies to conduct regular quality review of program performance and identification and prioritization of areas for improvement.
- Support National Societes conducting health facility based, outreach, and community-based immunization activities
- Support National Societies to identify and implement opportunities for improving quality of data collection and the use of mobile technology.
- Monitoring key data indicators for program performance and impact
- Provide both country and distance technical
- Review and provide feedback on project updates and reports (monthly sitreps, monthly PPT updates, narrative reporting as per the schedule agreed with the project donor
- Support the development of success stories / lessons learned and other documentation that profile the successes National Societies have had to date
- Support the National Society strengthen to relationships with MoH, EPI, and key partners at country level (UNICEF, WHO, GAVI, BMGF)
- Developing concept notes for funding partners
- Developing grant proposals (narrative, workplan, budget) and summary reports for funding partner
- Engaging with the IFRC Headquarter Immunization Team in immunization strategy development and program implementation and strengthening

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide both in-country and distance support to National Societies implementing immunization activities in IFRC’s Africa Region.
- Review and make recommendations on program reporting, as per schedule agreed with MoH and program donors (g., monthly reports, quarterly reports, annual reports).
- Participate in regular internal and external (with donors) meetings and support the IFRC country office or National Society to update project partners (MoH, donors, and IFRC Regional Office and HQ Immunization Team).
- Develop a process to monitor project implementation at the different levels and identify and prioritize areas for improvement.
- Support the development of concept notes and proposals for programme donors.
- Support the exchange of better practice and lessons learned between RC/RC country teams.
- With the National Societies and IFRC country office identify and prioritize areas that need improvement. Develop a workplan to address areas for improvement and share with MoH and programme donors.
