The Institute for Political Studies of the Social Sciences Faculty is recruting
**Two Doctoral Students SNSF**
to complete the research team of the project ‘Hybrid Infrastructure Policies for the 21st century : Towards Green and Digital Economy (HIP21)’, funded by the Swiss National Fund. Promoting a green and digital economy requires critical infrastructures, in particular in terms of **renewable energies** and **digital infrastructures**.
The public policies applied to these sectors combine a neoliberal legacy (e.g liberalization, privatization, regulation) with a new industrial policy approach (e.g. subsidies, public investment).
The HIP21 project analyses this policy change, its causes and its different manifestations in Europe, at both the European Union and national levels, in particular in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium.

Expected start date in position : 01.09.2023 (or date to be agreed)
Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Activity rate : 100%
Workplace : Lausanne-Dorigny, Geopolis building
Remuneration : Doctoral Student SNSF scale
**Your responsibilities**:
In your activities, you will have to:
- To participate in the research project "Hybrid Infrastructure Policies for the 21st century : Towards Green and Digital Economy (HIP21)"
- To contribute to the realization of different tasks related to the research project’s implementation
- To write and complete a PhD in political sciences under the supervision of Emmanuelle Mathieu

**Your qualifications**:
In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills:
- Master's degree in social sciences, ideally in political sciences or public administration
- Strong interest for economic governance, regulation, energy policy, digital infrastructure policy, and/or industrial policy
- Strong skills in qualitative methods and data collection. Skills or at least a strong interest in quantitative methods is also desired
- Excellent relational skills, collaborative attitude, as well as being able to take initiatives and work autonomously
- An excellent command of English, both written and oral, is required. Good level in French and/or German is also desired
