Duration of contract: 1 year, renewable for 3 years (4 years in total)

Salary : Based on the salary scale set out by the Canton of Vaud for Doctoral Student SNSF funded by grants from the Swiss National Science Foundation

**Your qualifications**:
- A master in sociology, demography, economics, social policy, or another relevant discipline;
- A strong interest in research on social inequalities;
- Strong skills in quantitative methods and familiarity with R and/or Stata;
- A collaborative attitude and interest in teamwork;
- Fluency in English (working language), knowledge of French and/or German is an asset.
**What the position offers you**:
- You will work in an exciting intellectual environment at Lausanne’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, which includes the national research center LIVES and have opportunities to be integrated the LIVES laboratory of the Institute of Social Sciences and to collaborate with researchers at the Swiss Centre of Expertise in the Social Sciences;
- We offer an ambitious but pleasant research environment and value teamwork highly. You will work in a multicultural, diversified, and dynamic academic environment. We provide possibilities of continuous training and funding to attend international conference but also of the LIVES doctoral school.;
- You have the opportunity to teaching in French. The main working language of the position is English and you are expected to write your thesis in English. However, given that the focus of the project is on Switzerland knowledge of French and/or German is an asset.
