**Introduction**:
The University of Lausanne is a higher teaching and research institution composed of seven faculties where approximately 17,000 students and 5,000 collaborators, professors, and researchers work and study. Situated along the idyllic Lake of Geneva, the university brings together over 120 nationalities.

**Job information**:
Expected start date in position : Preferably either 1 Sept 2023 or some time by agreement in the first half of 2024.

Contract length : The initial contract is 1 year, and it is twice renewable for a total of 5 years of funding. Salary according to legal stipulations here

Location : Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Lausanne

Activity rate : Full-time

Group leader : Professor Charles Efferson

**Your responsibilities**:

- PhD thesis in Economics
- Teaching activities under the responsibility of Professor Charles Efferson, research activities and administrative tasks.

**Required profile**:

- A Master’s degree in Economics, Evolutionary Ecology, or some relevant behavioral or computational social science
- Strong research interest in evolutionary analysis of human behavior, especially social learning, cultural evolution, and gene-culture coevolution
- Knowledge of and interest in modeling and theory development
- Programming experience and ready to learn how to develop and implement large-scale distributed simulation projects
- Some experience with and ready to learn more about incentivized behavioral experiments
- Keen to work in highly interdisciplinary settings
- Fluent in English

**The Research Team**:
The post-doc will work closely with Charles Efferson and will be a member of the PACE Lab (pacelab.org) in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne. The project also includes funding for a dedicated PhD student, and the post-doc and PhD student will likely work together to some extent.
