**The Role - Commercial Director**

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Commercial Director to join our team. As the Commercial Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving our business growth by successfully selling market research and innovation consultancy services to large FMCG, CPG, and consumer goods companies.

Your primary focus will be on unlocking substantial growth from a portfolio of clients, both through direct sales and by leading a team of Account Directors. Your ability to convert discretionary spend into program spend, such as contracts or credits, will be crucial to your success.

**What you’ll do**:

- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and expand our client base within the FMCG, CPG, and consumer goods sectors.
- Identify and engage with key decision-makers at target companies, building strong relationships and establishing Catalyx as their preferred innovation consultancy partner.
- Lead and inspire a team of Account Directors, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to drive exceptional performance and growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, research, and product development, to align sales efforts with our service offerings and client needs.
- Drive the entire sales process, from prospecting and pitching to contract negotiation and closing deals, ensuring a seamless and value-driven experience for our clients.
- Utilize your extensive knowledge of market research and innovation consultancy to provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients, helping them unlock growth opportunities.
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our service offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
- Effectively manage client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and refine sales strategies, optimize processes, and contribute to the overall growth and success of Catalyx.

**What you’ll we’re looking for**:

- Minimum of 10 years of successful experience in selling market research and innovation consultancy services to large FMCG, CPG, and consumer goods companies.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, with a focus on unlocking substantial growth from a diverse client portfolio.
- Strong network and existing relationships with key decision-makers in the FMCG, CPG, and consumer goods sectors.
- Experience in converting discretionary spend into program spend, such as contracts or credits, is highly preferred.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a team of high-performing sales professionals.
- Deep understanding of market research, innovation consultancy, and consumer goods industry dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative sales approaches tailored to client needs.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and drive business growth.
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
