About the role

As Head of EMEA Group Clients, Specialty Casualty and Engineering Lines you will lead a team of UW/Account Executives and Global line of business leads. You will report to the CUO EMEA.

The client base you will be responsible for are multinational clients, which are leaders in their chosen areas of business. These companies organize their reinsurance purchase centrally and require Reinsurance partners to manage the relationship with a coordinated approach and an holistic view.

Due to the size of their ceded Reinsurance premium to the market, they are priority clients for brokers and competitors. You will have to ascertain yourself with the senior leaders of these organizations and together with the team will have to develop convincing strategies, which create the best possible overlap between client goals and our portfolio targets.

The client base for this unit may shift over time, with clients rotating in and out of the unit.

The Engineering and international casualty lines are allocated to this area as multinational clients are a major source of business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the unit and manage the team in an efficient way
- Secure a high UW quality and manage the portfolio at all stages of the market cycle in an optimal way
- Develop and refine a client management framework which ensures we understand the client’s buying motivation, makes sure we are well connected with key stakeholders, enables us to use our table stakes in an optimal way and delivers profitable growth
- Manage client expectations in a consistent way and position MS Amlin with brokers and clients for profitable growth
- Make sure our delivery model strikes an optimal balance between cost and riped benefits
- Manage the necessary internal interfaces and bring Underwriters along as they understand strategy and their respective role
- Create necessary alignment with the Management and make sure resources are available for delivering the strategy
- Drive annual planning
- Develop talent base within team on a continuous basis

**Profile**:

- A strategic mindset and approach to business development
- At least 10 years of Underwriting expertise across different lines of business and geographies
- Demonstrated success managing portfolios through different market cycles
- A good understanding of clients’ RI buying motivations and strategic goals, combined with the ability to articulate MS Amlin's value in the clients’ world
- Well-rounded personality with a strong business sense, the ability to personally engage across a client’s organization, manage the people matrix on both sides with a consistent message to build the political power base to influence decision makers
- High leadership qualities to motivate a team, set clear goals and to enhance performance
- Superior negotiation skills with a high level of creativity
- Ability to leverage MS Amlin knowledge to turn it into value for clients creating a competitive advantage that reduces focus on price
- Existing client and broker relationships are a plus
