This position reports to the Corporate Vice President, IO L egal, Compliance, Quality & Business Development (IO L CQ&BD ), and is based at our office in Zurich, Switzerland.

**The Position**

T he Head of Business Development (BD Head) will act as a strategic partner for our commercial organisation in IO and be the key contact to Corpor ate B usiness Development. The initial task is to identify opportunities for partnerships that will enable the execution of Novo Nordisk’s commercial strategy ; a s well as establish ing best practises related to the assessment and setup of new commercial partnerships, which can be applied across the world.

As Novo Nordisk has been growing, diversifying into new diseases areas, and evolving our commercial model, different commercial partnerships have already been established across the world. It will be the responsibility of the Head of Business Development to map our current activities and identify future BD opportunities which can be scaled across markets ; all this will be done with colleagues from IO Strategic Operations (IO-SO) and across IO working on Business Development and in collaboration with Corporate Bus iness Development. The IO BD Head will also - like other IO functions - support Corporate BD on Global deals and projects.

This is for now a standalone position, sitting in our above
- R egion, strategic, commercial office called IO Strategic Operations (IO-SO). The key stakeholder landscape is vast, including IO EVP, IO Management, IO-SO functions, colleagues in Corporate Business Development; commercial leadership teams across multiple R egions ; a nd external partners and health institutions. The ability to navigate complexity, successfully gain buy-in and deliver through others will set you up for success.

**Qualifications**

Whilst working in the pharma, you have successfully established a range of lasting, commercial partnerships, which you have scaled across multiple markets to drive significant business impact. You take a simple, agile approach to driving complex projects and you are able work effectively with a high level of independence and autonomy. You are strong on the strategic level but can also execute specific deals.

During your time working in commercial positions, you have likely worked at multiple organisational layers in positions with broad geographical scope and you feel confident collaborating with multicultural stakeholders, coming from different functions and organisations. You have built high impact Business Development capabilities and teams; and yo u have convincing communication skills and enjoy presenting to senior stakeholder groups.

You may have worked in therapeutic and commercial areas relevant to Novo Nordisk; if this is not the case, y our solid industry knowledge, curiosity, and agility enable you pick up new areas quickly.
