Head of Business Development

You report to the CEO and lead all direct and distributor-based business-development activities at InSphero covering product and service business as well as partnership deals. Based on the global sales strategy which you shape, you and your team of experienced business developers and internal sales agents drive the ambitious revenue growth of the company. In your leadership role, close interaction with our key accounts and representation of InSphero at international business meetings is a focus. Your team of up to 10 people is located in Switzerland and the US. Starting date: as soon as possible. Place of work: Schlieren, Switzerland.

Main responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global sales strategy to meet sales target
- Build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships to understand their business needs and objectives
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
- Evangelize the technology and personally help to identify, drive and close the largest deals
- Establish the inbound lead requirements needed to meet our sales objectives
- Manage and improve a lean sales process, including relevant software tools, with a focus on efficient customer interaction, agility, and growth
- Assure individual employee performance by employee guidance, incentive schemes, planning, monitoring, and appraising of their job results
- Establish sales objectives by planning and forecasting annual sales targets for regions and territories
- Analyze market trends and monitor competition
- Support product management in pricing, positioning, and value messaging
- Travel requirements: up to 60% with EU and North America focus

Profile
- 5+ years of field sales experience in the life-science industry
- Proven team leadership skills, leading by example
- Biology-related degree (preferably Ph.D.) with a good understanding of cell biology/molecular biology
- Understands both the EU and US markets, with extensive and relevant contacts in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries
- Energetic, result-driven personality with a hands-on mentality and strong motivation to succeed, who assumes responsibility, takes decisions, and is strong in execution
- Embracing and building meaningful customer relationships on a personal level
- Practical & realistic planner who is well organized and pays attention to detail
- Strong business sense and entrepreneurial thinking combined with excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Fluency in English is a must, additional languages are a plus
