Company Description

MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 to consolidate and develop MET Group’s Trading activities.

METI as the integrated trading arm of MET Group, with the purpose of portfolio supply, structuring, optimizing and ultimately risk managing the Group’s positions across commodities and trading regions. Furthermore, it provides a market making and structured trading platform for 3rd parties as well as conducting proprietary trading activities.
- Liquidity provider, physical presence and structured trading platform in most European natural gas and power markets
- Cross-commodity optimization and asset backed trading
- Underwriting mid-long term PPAs to renewable producers

**Job Description**:

- Support the sub-units of the Power Trading Desk in their day-to-day activities:

- Quantitative valuation & trading strategies
- Fundamental analysis
- Operations & trading IT project participation
- Trading and asset optimization
- Build trading and trade execution strategies including cross-border capacity optimization and arbitrage plays for the relevant Trading books
- Build control and execute processes around short term asset optimization
- Position reporting and management (complex trade entries, ETRM operations, PnL control of complex trading strategies)
- Pricing and concluding internal deals with MET Group subsidiaries
- Assist in the ad-hoc and business development projects such as M&A valuation exercises on the Power Trading Desk

**Qualifications**:

- Strong educational background in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, engineering)
- Proven experience within a similar position, preferably 2-3 years in power
- Deep understanding of optionality in energy markets e.g. real options, volatility smile/skew
- Exposure to renewable energy trading or structuring
- Programming experience related to financial pricing as well as process optimization
- Understanding of power plant optimization in energy markets
- Trading/execution experience preferred
- Understanding of flexible assets such as CHP’s
- Understanding of PnL concepts in practice
- Strong experience or exposure to Python, VBA, MS Excel and SQL
