**Postdoctoral position in structural optimization and sustainable design**:
**Your mission**:
The Concrete Behaviour and Structural Design Laboratory (CONSTRUCT) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the area of structural optimization and sustainable design.
CONSTRUCT is a new lab at EPFL led by Prof. David Ruggiero. We focus on developing the sustainable use of structural concrete via:

- improved mechanical modelling of new and existing concrete structures,
- investigation of lower-carbon alternatives to traditional concrete, and
- design for adaptive reuse and longevity.

**Main duties and responsibilities include**:

- Performing original research in the area of sustainable reinforced concrete structures
- Preparing publications for academic journals and presenting at international conferences
- Contributing to research group activities including co-supervision of MSc students and teaching

**Your profile**:

- PhD in structural engineering or a closely-related discipline (completed or near completion)
- Strong numerical modelling and programming skills
- Interest in interdisciplinary topics such as life-cycle assessment and adaptive reuse
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Record of academic publication and presentation
- Practical structural design experience preferable
