UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

Aligned with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, UN Women’s Second Chance Education and Vocational Learning (SCE) Programme is a solution for women who have missed out on education. This project aims to develop context specific, affordable and scalable learning, entrepreneurship and employment pathways for empowering the most disadvantaged women. It offers women, their families, local communities and societies the benefits of access to educational services which are tailored not only to their needs as learners, but also to their future as earners. The SCE Programme achieves this through partnerships with implementing organizations on the ground.

In its first phase (2018-2023), SCE is being piloted in six countries: Australia, Cameroon, Chile, India, Jordan, and Mexico, representing three different contexts: low and middle-income countries with pockets of exclusion, marginalization and poverty, including among indigenous groups; fragile and crisis countries with mass displacement and refugees; and a developed context with marginalized groups of refugee, migrant and indigenous women.

SCE is now in a critical phase of resource mobilization and targeted communications work. It seeks the support of an intern in a range of tasks including website updating and management, support in the development of blended learning materials, production of communication assets and translation assistance across all those areas.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Under the overall guidance of the SCE Programme Manager, the direct supervision of the Knowledge Management and Research Analyst and close collaboration with E-learning Specialist and the SCE team, the intern is expected to work on/contribute to the below assignments:

- Regularly update the SCE e-portal with new content from country SCE programmes, especially participant stories, news items and videos, with the overall aim of keeping all the versions of the site (English, French, Spanish and Arabic) fresh and up to date
- Support the production of online SCE foundational courses, including through review of drafts, translation assistance, image selection, testing of online courses, and checking the alignment between face-to-face and digital materials
- Undertake general support functions for communication and resource mobilization work such as editing subtitles, drafting and proofreading documents, preparing PowerPoint presentations, contribute to the graphic design of concept note and other documents and support the social media calendar
- Carry out regular updates of the SCE data base to ensure it always contains the latest data points available around themes that are relevant to SCE
- Provide any other support as advised by the supervisor.
