The internship is located in the Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM), Human Resources Management Service, United Nations Office at Geneva. This internship is for a period of three months, from 25 April to 14 July 2023.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time.¿

The intern will work five (5) days per week (40 hours) under the overall supervision of the head of the Language Training Programme and under the direct supervision of the teachers responsible for the Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish Programme at the Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM). The time percentage of your work for different language teams will be decided at the beginning of the internship and might change throughout during the internship.

**Responsibilities**:
The incumbent will:

- Assist in developing and updating learning materials, resources and online activities using the platform on Moodle;
- Assist in the running of webinars for those doing online courses;
- Design, develop, update and revise language teaching materials;
- Work on our internal testing and evaluation system and other ongoing projects;
- Carry out other staff development activities when requested.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).

- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required; and ‘fluency’ or ‘knowledge’ of French is ‘desirable’ or ’an advantage’. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
