This on-site internship is located in the Sustainable Energy Division (SED) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Geneva, Switzerland. For a duration of minimum 03 months and maximum 06 months, during the period from 01 September 2023 to 29 February 2024.

**Responsibilities**:
The intern is expected to contribute to the work of the Sustainable Energy Division as follows:
a) Assists in the organisation and servicing of the intergovernmental meetings in the areas covered by the Division;
b) Develops a communication campaign;
c) Takes initiative for the preparation (including research and design) of engaging visuals and infographics for use on social media and website;
d) Drafts of news stories and other communications content;
e) Works on layout of the documents and publications;
f) Updates website;
g) Carries out other tasks as required in the Division, such as meeting support, drafting of reports and updating the UNECE databases.

Uses time efficiently.

Education
To qualify for the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
(c) Have graduated with a university degree, as defined above, and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.

For this internship, studies in Visual Communication Design, Communications, Media, International Relations, Journalism or Environmental Studies are required.

Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.

Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French or Russian is an asset.
