**Cimeio Therapeutics is looking for an Intern, Gene Editing/ NGS Sequencing, 60-100% (9-12 months)**.**
**Cimeio Therapeutics** is an applied gene editing, cellular, and immunotherapy company developing a portfolio of Shielded-Cell & Immunotherapy Pairs for patients with debilitating and life-threatening diseases. Cimeio’s proprietary technology platform is based on the discovery of novel protein variants, which when inserted into cells allow them to preserve function while resisting depletion by a precisely paired immunotherapy. This technology has significant therapeutic potential, which Cimeio is using to develop curative treatments for patients with genetic diseases, hematologic malignancies, and severe autoimmune disorders.
We are looking for a motivated Intern to support our Gene Editing and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) teams.
We are an exciting small team of scientists determined to make a difference for modern human medicine. We have an open welcoming atmosphere, where everybody in the team actively contributes ideas.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Performing standard molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR technologies and SANGER Sequencing
- Supporting the team with DNA library preparations for next generation sequencing (NGS) to assess CRISPR based on-target efficiencies and off-target effects
- Supporting colleagues, associates, and scientists with their work in the area of gene editing including general cell culture, flow cytometry and sequencing techniques
- Supporting general laboratory duties and maintenance of relevant lab equipment
- Performing data analysis of data generated
- Writing up of experimental procedures and final analysis report
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Currently enrolled in a natural / life sciences bachelor or master’s degree or graduated within the last 12 months or Apprenticeship in Pharma or Biotech with max 1 year work experience
- Enthusiasm developing, applying, and optimizing new protocols and techniques
- Well-organized, highly motivated, and quick to learn
- Experience in molecular biology techniques (DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, gel electrophoresis, primer design) is a plus
- Understanding of CRISPR/Cas gene editing in mammalian cells would be a plus
- Highly collaborative and able to work in an interactive and fast-paced R&D environment
- Profound knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; enthusiasm for structuring information as well as experience in preparing presentations and presenting work results in front of a variety of audiences
- Being able to work in multicultural environment
- Communication and presentation skills, fluency in written and spoken English are required
