**Manager Human Resources Nautical Operations**

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**
The Manager Human Resources / Nautical Operations (SHRM / NO) is ultimately responsible for all HR related processes for the entire nautical river department. Moreover, the Manager Human Resources is the core HR Business Partner of the Nautical Directors, the Nautical Managers and the Corporate Captains. He/she acts as an adviser in all HR-related matters and proactively supports Viking’s employee performance review processes. The SHRM / NO is the main contact for any HR processes within the nautical department and reports to the Executive Director Human Resources.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Define and manage HR administration and wellbeing of crew in an effective & compliant manner
- Maintain business relations with visa authorities to be constantly up to date regarding visa requirements
- Design and create contract templates for onboard employees in accordance with legislation and company policies
- Gather all HR needs for Nautical employees and initiate necessary actions in agreement with Executive Director Human Resources, Director Nautical Operations and Corporate Captains
- Liaise with the Recruiting Department to ensure the required numbers & quality of crew for assigned operations is provided in time
- Maintain close business relations with the Corporate Captains, Nautical Service Center, Recruiting and Payroll Department, ensure data quality shared with Payroll
- Analyze terminations / turnover data and initiate appropriate actions in coordination with Senior HR Manager Team and Nautical Directors
- Control staff satisfaction and initiate action to improve it in coordination with SHRM Team, Nautical Directors, and Corporate Team
- Support the Nautical Service Team with deployment of all management positions
- Coordinate staff planning processes at the beginning and during the season together with the Nautical Crewing Manager
- Support the Recruiting team with recruiting events and assessment centers
- Support the Training Department in the organization of the season start training
- Design and deliver HR-specific trainings to onboard staff and Management
- Conduct ships visits to support with communication and foster relations with onboard employees
- Responsible for nautical apprentice administration, including communication to authorities, schools, training centre and training vessel

**QUALIFICATION PROFILE**
- Certificate / degree in Human Resource Management
- Min. 5 years professional experience in a similar position
- International experience / nautical experience is an asset
- Excellent English and German skills (written and verbal), other languages are an advantage
- Excellent computer knowledge (MS Office, SAP), administrative experience
- Affinity with numbers / Excel is an asset
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, service-oriented and guest focused
- Positive personality, organized, flexible, team player, creative, stress resistant and resilient
- Evaluate and coordinate HR needs for the Nautical department, streamline processes according to HR standards, train HR team for implementations
- Represent HR in nautical operation meetings
- Provide HR Policy and SOP guidance
- Deputy to the Executive Director Human Resources
- Coordinate travel expense reimbursements with the Finance Department through online tools
- Contribute to compensation and benefits projects
