Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the actual financial figures for Alcon (sales of USD 9bn). Ensure proper documentation and correct recording of all global bookings impacting the consolidated figures as well as management reporting together with the Reporting Lead. Act as safety net by ensuring that no material mistake gets consolidated into the Alcon Group figures.Support business to drive for sustainable growth by providing meaningful financial information.

Major Accountabilities:
- Accountable for timely delivery and accuracy of closing decko:

- Work with APMR, FCRS, BPA, MTO, Treasury, Tax, etc. team to create month end close decko
- Ensures high quality and constant improvement of closing deck
- Modify and adjust deck as needed to flag risks of business to Head BPA, CAO, and the CFO
- Responsible to assist in the closing call
- Keep minutes of closing call
- Drives CFO, Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), BPA and Head FRA through the slides allocated and answer additional questions raised
- Responsible to maintain relationship with external auditors
- Act as point of contact for the Audit manager
- Provides timely and accurate answers to queries from the Audit team
- Accountable to keep track and monitor significant transactions
- Organize the pre-read materials for the monthly touch points with business
- Document and share list of significant transactions and risks with Alcon Reporting Lead
- Accountable to deliver high quality Balance Sheet Review (BSR) on a quarterly basis
- Work with APMR, MTO, FCRS, Treasury, Tax, etc. team to create the BSR
- Ensures high quality and constant improvement
- Ensure timely follow up on action items
- Responsible to support business, External Reporting and Technical Accounting team
- Facilitate the data flow from C&R to External Reporting
- Review draft external reporting financial data
- Participate country review visits as required by CAO
- Lead projects
- Support BPA team and functional finance team on any accounting or reporting topic
- Responsible to work with APMR, FCRS, MTO, Treasury, Tax, etc. team to improve quality and efficiency of the month end close process
- Accountable to provide meaningful reports to BPA and functional finance team
- Work with BPA and functional finance team to understand key needs
- Regularly review of available data and flag issues
- Provide meaningful analysis to BPA to enable them to drive sustained growth
- Responsible to provide ad-hoc support to the CAO or her teams
- Accounting and consolidation of acquisitions and divestments
- Monitoring of provisions and accruals
- Responsible to support Head of Consolidation & Reporting to further align FRA processes

**Requirements**:

- University degree
- Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant
- Fluent in English both written and spoken, German, Spanish and French of advantage
- Overall relevant work experience of 5-8 years. Strong technical competence acquired in: Audit and Financial Reporting & Accounting: minimum 3 years Big 4 and/or Public Accounting experience; Financial Reporting systems: 5 to 8 year experience acquired in global consolidation and evaluating reporting systems; External Reporting and/or Compliance Function: 0 - 2 years’ experience acquired in one of these areas in a multinational company
- Practical experience with consolidation and financial reporting tools
- ERP implementation experience
- International experience and the ability to work in an international environment (i.e. an international team and deal with internal customers around the world)
- Project management and leadership skills, ability to work cross functional and in teams
- IFRS
- Independently perform analytical reviews of financial data identifying areas of increased risk and potential error for follow-up investigation
- Write explanatory commentary on financial statement captions (balances and / or movements
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- External reporting requirements
