Our AXA XL Graduate Trainee (GT) program offers you an exciting journey into the fascinating world of the insurance industry and gives you the opportunity to kick-start and develop your career as an international insurance professional. You will have the unique opportunity to gain insights into all departments while using your strengths and skills during a rotation program through Underwriting, Claims, Distribution & Operations and collaborate with enabling functions such as Finance, Legal and Compliance. In addition, you will spend two months in a different location which could be Cologne, Paris or Madrid. As part of a thriving community, you will lead the new generation of talent and change the future of the insurance industry, so we remain relevant to our customers and society overall.
The GT aims to boost your career impact by equipping you with the necessary technical and business skills. After the 18-months, we will decide together where your journey is to be headed, whether it is a role within AXA XL’s Swiss operation, somewhere abroad or in a global or regional function.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Collaborating with and supporting of various teams within our international insurance operation, including development and structuring tailor-made solutions by considering the strategic direction of AXA
- Proactively fostering relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Advising, assisting and partnering with customers on insurance and risk management matters to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assessing risk profiles and evaluating appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs, including expected claims costs as well as underwriting and general administration expenses to ensure general profitability
- Building an entrepreneurial approach to the insurance ecosystem by developing change initiatives
- Further development and insight into the international insurance industry and the opportunity to transfer theoretical skills into everyday professional life
- Embracing the leadership role and voice in the market to foster a new generation of talent to join the industry and AXA specifically
