Operations and Risk Manager

For one of our long-standing clients, a global financial institution based in Basel, Swisslinx is looking for a Operations and Risk Manager to join the local team. In this role you would be supporting this business in the areas of risk management, procurement and IT hardware management with a specific focus on the implementation of a risk management framework (3 lines of defence).

This would be temporary contract for 12 months with high likelihood of a subsequent extension.

Your Role:

- Risk management: responsible for supporting the coordination of risk management activities and the implementation of the 3 Lines of Defence initiative in the department. This includes identifying risk scenarios, defining controls and KRIs, developing processes as needed, and ensuring reporting at regular intervals
- Procurement: Together with other colleagues, ensuring effective procurement activities in line with procurement principles
- IT hardware management: acting as liaison between Information Technology Services and the department to ensure the provisioning and decommissioning of hardware
- Process improvements: identifying needs for improving global operations. This could be improving and simplifying existing processes or creating new processes

Your Profile:

- 5+ years' experience in risk management and procurement, prior experience with designing processes would be a strong advantage
- Expertise in the implementation / coordination of a risk management framework across 3 lines of defence
- Ability to assess processes and work with data in order to find improvements
- Excellent communications skills in order to liaise with and report to senior stakeholders
- Fully business fluent English
