Result of Service
- Successfully provide advice and analysis to the Secretariat team throughout the investigation period started as soon as possible ;
- Preparation of written analytical summaries to be fed into overall reporting of the Commission by end of investigation period in a timely manner; and
- Provision of oral and written briefings to the team of investigators.

**Responsibilities**:
The incumbent will support the Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Commission of Inquiry on Syria in supporting the objectives of the CoI, through an exercise aiming
(i)at consolidating the COI investigators' practical knowledge-sharing on the conduct of investigations, including remotely;
(ii) developing the investigators' understanding of how to research/investigate security-related/military command hierarchies within all parties to the conflict, and

(iii) increasing synergies between the investigation team and its outputs, and the analysts in charge of report drafting.
The CoI should then have an improved capacity to build upon existing information on already listed alleged perpetrators, to improve the identification of new individuals alleges to have committed violations, to further develop the COI's field networks of contacts to conduct targeted thematic investigations and to increase its ability to doing so through remote, HQ-based investigations inside Syria in addition to regular field deployments.

Qualifications/special skills
Skills: Training experience
Academic Qualifications: Advanced degree in policing and criminal justice international context
Experience: Ten years of experience in the field of criminal investigations, chain of command - and command & responsibility - related issues in the context of international law and related areas.
