- Bachelor's degree or higher from a respected university
- Experience with and love of children
- Passion for teaching and a keen interest in innovative education models
- Previous non-traditional teaching experience is preferred
- Previous leadership experience is preferred
- Must be driven and hardworking
- Proficient with tech tools, including AI, and EdTech tools.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required Fluency or proficiency in German is a major plus, but not a requirement.
- Having a teaching diploma that is recognized by the Canton of Zurich or The Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK) is a big plus, but not a requirement
- Due to Swiss immigration restrictions it would be ideal if you were a citizen or dual-citizen of an EU country or Switzerland, but this should not stop you from applying

**Job Summary**:

**Who we are**:
We are a fun, flexible, kind, open-minded, secular Swiss-New Zealand family looking to provide our three children (born in 2014, 2016 & 2018) with a unique educational journey that will be part private teaching and part learning alongside other kids. For the past three years, we’ve privately educated our three children in California with the help of an amazing teacher and a small group of other families. Two full days and three half days per week our children learn privately with our teacher and three half days a week they join together with a group of homeschooled children to socialize, do projects, collaborate, spend time in nature, and develop their social and emotional skills.

**This role entails two areas of responsibilities**:

- Plan and lead the Lumos program: (three 4-hour workshops per week) for two age groups (Group 1: born 2017-2019, Group 2: born 2012-2016) of 10-15 homeschooled children each. These workshops will be highly creative and engaging and are designed to develop skills that are best learned alongside other children - such as collaboration, creative problem-solving, leadership, public speaking, discussion skills social-emotional skills, etc. We will hire two teachers to run this program.

We are looking for an exceptional educator who is deeply passionate about teaching and who loves interacting with children. You should be creative, intelligent, fun, passionate, flexible, well-organized, open-minded and positive. If your vision of an ideal school is one where children sit quietly while the teacher stands at the blackboard going through structured lessons, this isn’t the role for you.
